SUMMARY:From the Main Line: Conversation & Cocktails - July 8\, 2026
DESCRIPTION:Join photographer and visual storyteller Michael Froio for an evening of photography\, history\, and conversation at the Yard Office Bar & Lounge\, located within the historic Station Inn in Cresson\, Pennsylvania. \nThe evening begins at 6:00 PM with a reception and a viewing of selected photographs from Froio’s ongoing documentary project\, “From the Main Line\,” which examines the lasting influence of the Pennsylvania Railroad on Pennsylvania’s landscape\, communities\, and infrastructure. At 7:00 PM\, Froio will present an artist talk exploring the research\, stories\, and experiences that have shaped the project over more than a decade of work. \nSituated trackside along Norfolk Southern’s former Pennsylvania Railroad Main Line\, the Station Inn offers a fitting setting for this unique event. A destination for rail enthusiasts\, travelers\, and history lovers alike\, the inn combines historic railroad character with modern hospitality. Guests can enjoy cocktails\, food\, and the distinctive atmosphere of the Yard Office Bar & Lounge while engaging with the images and stories behind the project. \nMichael Froio is a photographer\, educator\, and visual researcher whose work explores the intersections of landscape\, infrastructure\, industry\, and cultural memory. His photographs are held in the collections of the Library of Congress\, the Philadelphia Museum of Art\, the Woodmere Art Museum\, and the Camden County Arts Bank. Through both commissioned and independent projects\, he uses photography to examine how people shape the built environment and how those places continue to evolve over time. \nFrom the Main Line is an ongoing photographic study of the Pennsylvania Railroad and its enduring impact on Pennsylvania’s landscape. Combining contemporary photography\, field research\, and historical context\, the project examines the railroad not simply as transportation infrastructure\, but as a force that shaped communities\, industry\, and regional identity across the Commonwealth. \nReception and Viewing: 6:00 PM\nArtist Talk: 7:00 PM \nSpace is limited. Advance reservations are encouraged. Please note that the B&B rooms are already sold out for this date thanks to the Big Boy Visit.

SUMMARY:2026 BCAAC Cresson Car Show - Sunday\, July 26
DESCRIPTION:On Sunday\, July 26\, the Blair County Antique Auto Club returns with their annual Cresson Show — and if you’re planning to be here anyway for the trains\, you might want to clear the whole day. \nThe BCAAC show is a judged\, all-makes-welcome event right here on Front Street. Original or modified\, car or truck\, restored or rat rod — if you’re proud of it\, bring it. Registration runs $15 per vehicle\, and spectator admission is free. It’s the kind of show that draws serious car people from across the region\, and it happens to take place in front of one of the more photogenic blocks in Cambria County. \nFor guests staying at The Station Inn\, the timing is ideal. You’ll be right in the middle of it — the show rolls out along the same Front Street stretch you’ve been watching Norfolk Southern traffic rumble past all weekend. Between the classic iron lining the curb and whatever manifest freight NS decides to send over the summit that afternoon\, it’s a busy viewshed. Bring your camera; you’ll find uses for it. \nIf you haven’t booked a room yet\, it’s worth checking availability. July weekends at the Inn fill quickly — especially when there’s extra reason to be in town. The show is a day trip for a lot of people\, but there’s something to be said for waking up on the porch with a cup of coffee before the cars arrive and the crowd builds. \nWe’ll see you on Front Street.
