I was fortunate enough to get a room for 3 only because there was a cancellation. This is not your typical “bed and breakfast,” this is the place that is every man’s dream. it is decorated completely in railroad so if you’re looking for a fancy romantic getaway with flowers and candles you should probably keep looking. Now with that said, my wife was with me and fell in love with the place. She loved how everyone welcomed us and she said that her favorite part of the trip was hanging out on the porch with the other guests. If you’re looking for a great place to see trains, a place to make new friends with other guests who also have an interest in trains, and an inn keeper who will treat you like family, The Station Inn is definitely the place for you!The inn is historic in its existence and well known throughout the rail fan community. There are 3 mainline tracks directly across the street so you can watch and take pictures without leaving the front porch. The porch is definitely the highlight of the inn as most of the guests gather there to enjoy the trains and conversations. We stayed in the Erie room, (all the rooms are named after railroads) it’s the one room that doesn’t have a track view, it has a queen bed, 2 twin beds, and a private bathroom. The room was very clean and even though there isn’t any air conditioning in the rooms, it was still comfortable enough to sleep with the fans running on a warm August night. The only negative about the inn would be that the toilets seem very small and low to the ground. The shower was equally as small in our room BUT I am 6”2’ so that might play into it as well, LOL.Overall, this place is GREAT! It is a place that transforms you back to a time when life was simpler and worry free.Pat is super nice and very welcoming, Sid is Pat’s dog and is considered the official greeter for arriving guests, once you meet him you’ll have a new best friend. The breakfast was great and offered several different options such as fresh fruit and pastries. We stayed there for 3 days and left having new friends. The inn is located within a few miles Horseshoe Curve and the Galittzen Tunnels. It is also within walking distance to a few local restaurants and bars. Parking is located across the street from the inn.I would definitely recommend this place if you’re searching for a great place to see trains in the Allegheny Mountains and experience small town atmosphere. Our room is already booked for next year.

The stay was like coming home. A friendly greeting with introductions to the other guests. Wonderful evenings on the porch watching trains and "Solving the worlds problems". Every morning's breakfast well prepared and enjoyed at leisure. This is truly a destination to unwind, slow down, "Smell the roses" and get a feel for a time gone bye.

I recently spent two nights at the Station Inn, in my favorite room, the Reading room. As always the room was very clean, the bed comfortable, and the window in the room looked over the front porch right onto the tracks. Pat the inn keeper could not have been more accommodating, and served a great breakfast. I will most definitely be back.

Rail fans will love the constant railroad traffic viewable from the huge comfy porch!! No T.V. so be aware. Breakfast was yummy sausage gravy with loads of frsh fruit and berries. The hostess, Pat, is awesome!! Never saw a happier group of Rail fans!! Walkability: Lots of restaurants within walking distance.

This was our first time staying at the Station Inn. If you love to watch trains and are a train buff, then this is the place for you! Sitting right across from the three tracks mainline of the Norfolk Southern Railroad you have plenty of action all the time. We lost count of the trains we saw but the Inn Keeper said they averaged around 50 trains a day. And this is day and night. They have a long front porch on the Inn with rocking chairs to sit in with a counter that you can bring take out from the local restaurants and eat right there on the porch as the trains roll by. The rooms are nice and clean, and you can get rooms facing the tracks. they have different arrangements for the number of guests that are in your party. It's a bed and breakfast so they cook up a nice breakfast for you each morning too. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are looking forward to a return trip in the future.

Ideal B&B for railfans, with a wide front porch for train-watching; proximity to the Horseshoe Curve and numerous historic RR attractions; piles of railroading books to explore; and talking trains with other guests over delicious hot breakfasts. You’ll find comfortable guestrooms; super-reliable wifi; welcoming, gracious staff; and safe, laid-back atmosphere. Casual, no-frill dining is a short walk away. Noteworthy details: No air-conditioning, but due to altitude, temperatures cool down at night.

Another Great Visit Another great stay at The Station Inn. Rooms were clean and fresh, the front porch provided a perfect place to catch up on work while traveling and catch all the train action. An easy walk to restaurants like The Brick on Front, Vitos, and more. Caping off each day chatting with other guests and watching the action on the front porch was perfect. The Station Inn is not your ordinary B&B and is perfect place for anyone interested in history and trains!
