Witness Mountain Railroading in Action

WITNESS MOUNTAIN RAILROADING

Situated ten miles west of Horseshoe Curve, The Inn is a unique Bed and Breakfast which faces the old PRR main line.

The Station Inn is a Railfan Mecca

From The Inn’s large front porch you will see eastbounds completing their climb to the Gallitzin Tunnels. Here at Cresson, westbounds begin their long descent to Johnstown. Intermodal trains, merchandise freights, auto racks, coal drags, double stacks, and Amtrak trains roll by regularly.

The Inn is about 150 feet from the Norfolk Southern tracks.

Whether you choose to relax on our porch, or go out and explore the area, there is no shortage of railroad activity in and around the area.

Through Your Lens

You don’t just watch NS’s Pittsburgh Line from our front porch — a lot of you shoot it. Here’s a rolling gallery of photos our guests have made from the porch and around Cresson, pulled straight from the Station Inn Flickr group.
